Manish Shukla, a nationally and internationally acclaimed poet. Born in Sitapur in 1971, he did his Post Graduation in Anthropology from the University of Lucknow. He is a Civil Service Officer in Uttar Pradesh and is presently working as Joint Chief Electoral Officer. He has also worked as Director, Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan, Lucknow.

A powerful voice at major mushairas all over India and abroad, Manish Shukla has been mesmerizing his audiences for over two decades with his impact-making and evocative poetry. His recitations are regularly broadcast on All India Radio and various television channels, further establishing him as one of the most respected contemporary voices in Hindi and Urdu poetry
