The Koshala Literature Festival (KLF) has emerged as a vibrant gathering that weaves together literature, music, art and culture. The Festival serves as a celebration not merely of words and ideas but of the spirit that animates our collective heritage and narratives.
The 2024 edition of the Festival invites attendees to engage in a range of activities: panel discussions that provoke thought, storytelling sessions that ignite imagination and musical performances that stir the soul. Authors, historians, poets, musicians, digital creators and artists converge to honour Awadh’s profound legacy and its enduring impact on both Indian and global literature. In a world that frequently seeks to box in and categorize, this festival serves as a refuge for the diverse voices that enrich our shared experiences.
The Festival serves as a platform where creativity flourishes — where the everyday storyteller stands shoulder to shoulder with renowned authors and artists. This inclusive spirit is important, allowing the richness of the cultural conversations to emerge, highlighting both celebrated figures and the unsung heroes whose stories deserve to be told.
In the last two years, KLF has hosted a remarkable array of speakers: filmmakers Muzaffar Ali and Tigmanshu Dhulia, mythologists such as Devdutt Pattanaik and writers including Shobhaa De and Ashwin Sanghi. Each voice has contributed to the festival’s vibrant dialogue, enriching the understanding of the world and ourselves.
The festival serves as a reminder of the delicate dance between tradition and modernity, inviting everyone to connect, reflect and celebrate the beauty of our collective imagination.
The Koshala Literature Festival is a journey into the heart of what it means to be a storyteller in an ever-evolving world.
The festival’s vision is to promote and preserve literature, art, and culture, with a particular emphasis on fostering local talent, especially among women, children, and youth in the fields of writing, performing arts, poetry, and storytelling. With a focus on the rich cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh, KLF has become a beacon of intellectual and cultural diversity.
The past editions of the festival has attracted an impressive lineup of distinguished speakers, including Devdutt Pattanaik, Pushpesh Pant, John Zubrycki, Anand Neelakantan, Saurabh Dwivedi, Shobhaa De, Malini Awasthi, Viren Sarang, Muzaffar Ali, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ashwin Sanghi, Pratyaksha, Vidya Shah, and Vikram Sampath.
