Having graduated from IIT Kanpur in 1984, Ajay Jain started the pioneering journey of a first-generation entrepreneur by founding Microlit to design world - class import-substitute scientific instruments. Today, under his guidance, Microlit operates in more than 65 countries and has received prestigious honours, including recognition by CII as one of India’s top 5 Most Innovative Companies; and Design and Innovation Awards from Germany and Japan.

Apart from Business success, Jain is an ardent lover of poetry, literature and music. Two decades ago, he established Lucknow Nawabs, a group dedicated to retaining and appreciating cultural heritage. Lucknow Nawabs has hosted numerous great personalities such as Pankaj Udhas, Kavita Seth, Gulzar Saheb, Wasim Barelvi, Javed Akhtar and Manna Dey, among others.
