Muzaffar Ali

Parallel to cinema, Ali has pursued painting with equal passion, exhibiting widely starting from Calcutta (1968), to Paris (1991)and Delhi (2023–24) with several exhibitions in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad in between. 

He also founded the annual Jahan-e-Khusrau World Sufi music festival, which completed its 25th year in 2025, and the Wajid Ali Shah Festival in Lucknow, under the aegis of the Rumi Foundation, where he serves as Chairman & Executive Director. 

Honoured with the Padma Shri (2005) and the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award (2014), he remains a rare artist bridging film, art, and culture.
