Jigyasa Mishra

Jigyasa Mishra is an artist, illustrator and award-winning multimedia journalist whose work has been published globally. She is known for her extensive reporting on gender across north India. Her investigation into women resisting sand mafias earned three national awards, recognition she credits to the mentorship of Magsaysay awardee P. Sainath.Jigyasa has carried out in-depth investigations into illegal sex determination centres, female foeticide, bonded labour, witch-hunting and a range of hidden injustices across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Kashmir and Uttarakhand. She tells these stories through words, paintings, photographs and films, often reporting on the ground during her third trimester and early motherhood.
