Writer, Poet and StorytellerRitesh Ranjan Sahay, rooted in the cultural richness of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and shaped by the artistic spirit of Lucknow, embodies a fusion of two distinctive worlds — a desi soul infused with the essence of Awadh. A poet, lyricist, copywriter, screenwriter, actor and storyteller, he began his creative journey with All India Radio Lucknow in 1997, writing and hosting for nearly a decade. In 1999, he founded his music band Talaash, known for its original earthy compositions. His narration commentary, voiced by Gulzar for Jo Chaho Ujiyaar (Times Music, 2010), received wide appreciation. His writing is simple yet evocative and deeply visual, evident in his poetry, lyrics and his debut feature film Agar Magar Kintu Lekin Parantu (2025). His immersive readings of timeless texts such as Gulzar’s Ravi Paar and Premchand’s Eidgaah invite audiences into the luminous world of Hindustani literature.
