Gulliermo Rodriguez
Cultural VisionaryGuillermo Rodríguez is the Founding Director of Casa de la India, the pioneering Indian cultural centre in Spain which has become the model for India's cultural diplomacy abroad. He is a multi-disciplinary scholar, author, translator, and cultural manager and has to his credit 25 publications (essays and books) published internationally on Indian English literature, Indian aesthetics, Bhakti literature, Indian performing arts traditions and literary criticism. In 2012 he was awarded the Friendship Award by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs for his contribution to Indo-Spanish cultural relations. His publications include When Mirrors are Windows: A View of A.K. Ramanujan`s Poetics (Oxford University Press, 2016), a landmark book on the Indian poet, scholar and translator. He is also the co-editor, with Krishna Ramanujan, of Journeys:A Poet’s Diary. A.K. Ramanujan (Penguin, 2019) and Soma. Poems by A.K. Ramanujan (Penguin, 2023).
