Rajit Kapur is a celebrated Indian film, theatre, and television actor, director, and producer, renowned for his versatility and depth in performance. He rose to prominence with his debut in Shyam Benegal’s Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda (1992) and achieved critical acclaim for his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in The Making of the Mahatma (1996), which won him the National Film Award for Best Actor. Equally memorable is his portrayal of the iconic detective Byomkesh Bakshi in the popular television series. Over the years, he has taken on diverse roles, including Jawaharlal Nehru and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and has acted in over 80 films. A stalwart of Indian theatre, Rajit Kapur is also the co-founder of Rage Productions, where he continues to contribute as both actor and director.
